Atul Electro Formers Ltd. was established in 1972 by a group of technocrats who were both innovative and futuristic. Atul Nickel Screens for sugar continuous centrifugals were introduced by the company to the fast growing sugar industry. From day one, Atul became synonymous for Quality and Reliability. In the years to come, the pragmatic technocrats kept pace with the changing times by introducing

Research And Development
Atul has been successful in satisfying the ever growing demands of its discerning customers, thanks to the R & D efforts it takes. Continuous upgradation of technology and its application, from prototype to product, is an ongoing process at Atul. Apart from the standard range, Atul caters to tailor made requirements according to customer specifications . The experts at the R & D often provide the much required design and engineering assistance to the customers. Apart from the sugar industry, Atul screens have been sucessfully used in food processors, coffee machines, flour grinders, shavers and appliances. It has also found applications in paints, rayon and chemical industries. Atul R & D is striving to enhance the utility and asthetics of many other products by judicious use of Atul Nickel Screens.
Manufacturing
Atul has a state-of-the-art manufacturing setup backed by excellent testing facilities. A fully automated electro forming plant with rotating drums and permanent matrices ensures precision and reduces human errors. A microprocessor based fully automatic logic controlled hard chrome plating system ensures a uniform thickness of minimum 10 microns. The computerised systems are engaged in testing at every stage from raw material to finished product. A highly trained work force at Atul is one of the strongest advantages. With continuous upgradation in the technology and methods, Atul is one of the forefront Nickel screen manufacturing facility of its kind in the world.
Quality Control
A highly exacting QS has been established and followed at Atul. The systems and procedures are backed by requisite instrumentation and intelligent systems. Computerised systems are employed to check the product at every stage of manufacturing. Raw materials forming baths and slot characteristics are continuously monitored. Every Atul Screen is subjected to Stringent Quality checks. To guarantee the performance of the screen from the throughput point of view, the open area of each screen is measured. An electronic eye measures area of each slot. The areas of all the slots are added up to find the total slot area of the screen. It is compared with corresponding international standards on a go no-go basis. Such rigorous measures render a high quality and reliability to every Atul screen what it is known for.
The Technology
Electroforming, by definition means forming shaped articles by electro deposition on moulds, dies and matrices. A matrix is produced by using photographic techniques of reduction followed etching. Highly accurate matrix having intricate slot shapes can be formed by this technology. Finally a Nickel screen which is electroformed on this matrix inherits all its immaculate features of accuracy and repeatability. Atul employs this explicit technology to manufacture screen with uniform slots, smooth finish and precise edge. The screens are made of high purity nickel. Subsequent to electroforming, they are hard chrome plated.
